What an amazing list!!! I was so happy to see The Memory Police, Crying in H Mart, YellowFace, Pachinkno (this story lives rent free in my mind to this day) and If I Had Your Face. I personally felt a bit let down by the endings of Severance and Breast and Eggs- but that could have just been me.
Thankyou for sharing these. Jhumpa Lahiri is one of my favourite authors of all time and I don't think she gets enough credit for how much of a literary shape shifter she is. To have won the pultizer so young and to then go on to reinvent herself and relearn her craft in another language only to do so beautifully is truly extraordinary...
Another one to add to the list: Almond by Sohn Won-pyung. One of my favorites and it’s a pretty short read. Also I’m in the middle of Pachinko right now!
A great list! Amy Tan was my first foray into the 'non-white writer' canon in high school. Her writings opened up a worldview that led me to other works. Any thoughts on The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa? A true gem and wish I could read in the original Japanese.
Wow, fantastic. Thank you.

So happy to see chemistry on here, one of my fav books!
Wonderful list! Just wanted to also add that Natural Beauty is Ling Ling Huang's work, not Ling Ma's -- though they're both excellent writers :)
